Study - Even short bursts of exercise help!

Short bursts of physical activity can lower mortality rates even for people who do not exercise. People who considered themselves non-exercises wore activity monitors. Those who had three 1-2 minute bouts of activity (like going upstairs) per day captured by an activity monitor were 40% less likely to die over seven years than those who got no exercise.

Dr. Neuman says:

Hard to say the above numbers are for sure; maybe people who cannot do short bursts of exercise are sicker than those who get them. Though at face value an incredible finding that even a little movement makes a big difference over time.
